The Mera Swaasth Mera Haath Campaign
Staying disease free is a ‘khwaish’-- a desire of every individual, and why should it not be!! But how does one remain disease free? Will it happen by itself, by taking medicines, or by remedies like eating badams/murabas, oil massages or Turkish baths laden with rose petals! The options are endless, they may have some benefits also, but practicing them all together is not possible or even practical-what is needed to remain disease free is to proactively take responsibility of your health and practice self-care.
What is Self-Care…?
Self- Care is what people themselves do to establish and maintain good healthin order to prevent and deal with diseases & illness.
It is a broad concept encompassing:
- Hygiene (general and personal)
- Nutrition (type and quality of food eaten)
- Lifestyle (sporting activities, leisure etc)
- Environmental factors(living conditions, social norms and habits etc)
- Socioeconomic factors (income level, cultural beliefs etc)
- Promotive health(immunisations, prevention and early detection of diseases)
- Care in Self-medication (permissible to careful)
Mera Swaasth Mission India has launched a campaign to empower you to practice self-care through life.....
The campaign is the MERA SWAASTH MERA HAATH CAMPAIGN
The highlights of the campaign are.....
- A Physicians Network whose members will be partners in care and will empower members in the community to practice self-care
- Enrolling people with the MERA SWAASTH CARD at the clinics of the network doctors
- On enrollment card holders will be entitled forphysical examination and testing to find out their health status and obtain guidance on self-care
- Card holders will also be entitled to rebates on registration for special programs launched from the clinics for e.g. programs on weight loss/ drugs or alcohol de-addiction/ care of the elderly/ cancer prevention/ diabetes, arthritis or hypertension prevention and management
- Card holders will also be entitled to rebates on special tests like Ultra sound, CT, MRI etc
